Sanctuary


You don't have to bend your knees
To pay for your sins
While you ask for forgiveness
Our trees kneel
Asking for mercy

The bonfire of our vanities
It's like these fires that destroy our land
We're losing control of everything
We are losing control of ourselves

Our world is covered in ashes
The air we breathe is the same air
That is burning in the lungs of this earth
The diseases proliferate
While we have our parties
I don't wanna be pessimistic
But while we are dancing
The world is burning

It is impossible that we cannot do something
Love cannot have become hate
All the hearts of this earth are equal.
If everyone is blind then how do we know where we are going?
It's hard to look at the horizon
While this mist is covering our eyes

I want to believe we can beat this evil
I want to believe that we will be safe in our home
If we can change the world
Then we are also able to save our sanctuary
